Our Local Support Directory lists available support for overseas workers in Buckinghamshire. Please use resources to guide and direct your recruits to appropriate local support.

A passport page filled with various immigration stamps from Canada and other countries.

Recruiting from overseas is an effective way to strengthen your workforce, but it is not a quick fix. 


The UK Government supports overseas recruitment and has added care roles to the Skilled Worker Visa.


Overseas recruitment isn’t for everyone.  


It’s a serious commitment with significant responsibilities on the employer. 


Most say the benefits outweigh the challenges, cost and effort involved.

Displaced Worker Grant Scheme 2026-27

We are pleased to confirm that the Department of Health and Social Care has approved  continued funding for the International Recruitment (IR) project.  This funding will run through to 31st March 2027 and is expected to represent the final year of the programme.  


Recruit displaced international care workers already in the Southeast and receive up to  £1,500 per worker, with full support from SESCA.
